Sheila Braun has been doing statistics since her first statistics course at Harvard in 2005. But not only is she a crack statistician with a knack for communicating complex information in simple terms, she also has a unique background that makes her an asset to any project that involves understanding statistics and reporting findings or editing dense technical material. After a wonderful childhood as a Mennonite farm girl in Pennsylvania, Sheila attended Messiah College for her bachelor's degree in Communication, then went on to Boston University for a few graduate courses in English before attending Boston College to complete her master's in that field. She went on to Catholic University to work towards a degree in social work, met statistics there and pursued that avenue on a master's level at Harvard University and the University of Vermont. Sheila has spent time oversees in South America and speaks Portuguese. Her stepmother is Chinese and has provided Sheila with unique exposure to Asian ways of life (and cooking!). She has eight years of experience as a software engineer, several years as a technical writer, and three years as a statistician working on a variety of projects. Sheila opened Anovisions in 2009 in order to support her two children. Since then, she has helped countless people achieve their academic and business goals with projects from computer science to education, environmental studies to musicology. Her unique background and intellectual versatility give her a strong start in any field. She loves meeting new clients. learning about their projects, and helping them to achieve their goals with data and writing. Her hobbies include trail and endurance horseback riding. |
